Degrees in economics and construction management earned in Adelaide were the perfect preparation for Arthur’s intended life in construction and development. However, God decided to involve Arthur in building His Kingdom instead!
So he headed to Chicago with his wife, Minli, and studied a theological degree at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. During those years they also welcomed two children into their family. The kids keep Arthur and Minli busy, but not too busy for Arthur to enjoy shopping (he’s a bargain hunter) and running (a good thing given his enthusiastic enjoyment of cakes, pastries and desserts!).
Arthur was first on the Trinity Church Adelaide team in 2007, but has returned in 2018 after his theological study in Chicago. Now, as our Mission Pastor, Arthur gets to encourage fellow brothers and sisters in Christ to love and reach out to their family and friends, classmates and colleagues.
Arthur also enjoys travelling. The craziest thing he ever did was take his two-year-old child on a study trip to Israel! Another time, when visiting China, he was astonished to see the world’s largest Bible printing press producing millions of Bibles for distribution in China and around the world. If he could spend a week anywhere in the world, he’d love to visit the graves of missionaries in China (e.g. Hudson Taylor, Robert Morrison and Matteo Ricci) to be inspired again by their passion for God and His global mission.
