Courtney has grown up in a mostly non-christian home. Around the age of 10 she moved, with her mum, from a small uniting church to begin attending Trinity Church Adelaide and be involved in a much bigger kid’s program, and this has been such a highlight of her faith.
Particularly in her early teens she was blessed to be surrounded by a big cohort of girls her own age. She spent the next few years learning a lot from them, with a lot of them having grown up in Christian homes and already knowing God’s love. With those friends around her, and the faithful structure of Fusion, our youth group, of weekly bible talks and small groups she came to understand and truly believe that God didn’t just create the world, but He sent His son to die for us so that we can have a relationship with him despite how broken we are.
In her Ministry Apprenticeship, Courtney is particularly focusing on aspects of maturing disciples and their faith, with Timothy Blagg as her trainer. When considering this role, through many helpful conversations with those around her, Courtney came to the conclusion that there was nothing to lose! She believes everything she will be exposed to and gets to try out as a Ministry Apprentice will, at the very least, help her to grow in her understanding of God and his love for her, and will help her to grow in skills to continue serving Him in this world wherever she goes.
Courtney married her husband Jackson in 2018. Despite different journey’s in their faith they are excited to be doing a Ministry Apprenticeship at the same time.
When she’s not at church, Courtney works 2 days as a medical administrator and mentor for new staff which she really enjoys. Details and efficiency are her passion. She loves being outside, particularly when the sun is out. You’ll catch her going for a run a few times a week and taking a walk whenever she can. She loves picnics and the beach. She will almost never pass down cake or cookies or anything sweet, and on the weekends you can often find her baking bread or treats.
